"Your guide on how to get the best hotel deals and the all the fine places to eat!"

    June 12, 2016 | PARIS, FRANCE

Nadine and I went to Paris a few weeks ago and it was our first 'official' work trip together! We weren't so lucky with the weather as we encountered the typical Parisian moody sky for almost every day during our stay. And of course the sun was shining when we were boarding our train back to Amsterdam.. But that didn't stop us from having lots of fun though! We visited a lot of the touristic gems of Paris; Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, Jardin Tulleries - I just can never get tired of them, can you? Nadine is quite a newbie when it comes to the culinary world so I took her to as many of my favourite dining spots in Paris too!

We stayed at the beautiful Grand Pigalle hotel again which was booked through Sheradill this time, which is a new innovative 'web app' created by HIP HOTELS. Well here comes the very exciting part *drumsticks* *badam badam bash boom* ; Sheradill allows you to gain m-a-j-o-r discount on your dream hotel by simply sharing them on social media! Seriously guys, it is super easy just like how it sounds.

"So erhm, how does this exactly works again?"

STEP 1 | So it begins..

Go to Sheradill's website and easily create an account using your Facebook, Twitter or e-mail address.

    STEP 2 | Go social-cray

Now that you've signed up, you can start sharing! Just search for a hotel deal that you would like to have and click on the "Earn more credits" button. It will give you options of sharing the deal on social media and/or visiting some pages in return for discount. Remember, the more you share, the more the original price will decrease. And don't forget to invite your friends too, because for every new member entering through your personal link, you'll get another € 20,- off a deal, woo-hooo!

    STEP 3 | Dream dealing

Onto the best part; When a certain deal has reached a price that you're willing to pay for, you can buy it, any time! You can also choose to wait until it has reached its minimum price (this could be 90% off the original price) but do keep in mind that you won't be the only one who's eyeing that deal.. So get it before it's gone! Happy travelling!

    Where To Eat?
      1. Sejong - It may not look like much on the outside - But I found this Korean place by accident when I was walking around looking for another restaurant; It was so packed with Koreans (yes I can tell the difference) which could only mean two things: tasty kimchi, even more tasty bimbimbap! Of course they also serve other Korean dishes, but those two dishes are simply my favorite!

      2. Hanks Burger - For all my vegans (and even non vegans) out there, this is the place to be for a quick bite! Located in my favourite Parisian neighbourhood Le Marais, they serve - never thought I would say this - fingerlicking good vegan burgers, and drinks, and desserts. This is a good alternative when you're craving for one of the classic and more expensive burgers at Cafe Charlot.

      3. Le Saotico - This little family-runned restaurant has all the ingredients you need for a romantic night out. The place is cute with a good ambiance, it has a true French feeling to it. I always prefer these kind of cozy places over all the fancy high-end restaurants. Make sure you book a table in advance!

      4. An Com - Everyone I know goes to China Town in Paris when they crave for a good bowl of the famous Vietnamese pho. Sometimes I even hear stories about them queuing for 30-60 minutes to get a seat in one of the restaurants.. Well ain't nobody got time for that! An Com, located in the 3rd arrondissement, serves amazing Vietnamese cuisine for a very good price. They're friendly, fast, delicious (I'm Vietnamese myself so when I tell you it's delicious, it's g-o-o-d) and you don't even have to queue!

      5. L'Alcazar - An oasis located in the Saint Germain area where they serve fine modern French cuisine. The place is recently renovated and now full of greens; it feels like you're having dinner at a beautiful tropical indoor garden, it somehow reminds me of the places I went to in Marrakech. Make sure to fill your wallet though!

      6. Buvette - This cafe was just right around the corner from our hotel; I sat here almost every morning working on my blog, eating a French toast and sipping on a cafe latte. We didn't try out dinner but I also feel like this is more of a lunch place. Definitely coming back next time! Note: this place is very Instagram-worthy as well! *wink*

    What To Do?

Paris is a city bursting with famous sightseeing spots that you'll want to cross off your to-visit list. I often find myself visiting the same places over and over again as they're simply enchanting. If you're new in Paris, here are a few must sees that you can not miss!

      1. Snaps at Trocadero - For the best Eiffel Tower picture! The subway station 'Trocadero' is located right around the corner just a few steps away. You won't get a better shot elsewhere

      2. Le Marais Area - Like I said, my favorite neighbourhood in Paris. With all the small boutiques, cute cafes and picturesque corners, I could easily stroll around for hours.

      3. Notre Dame Garden - This is one of the top sightseeing spots in the city, but if you are lucky to visit Paris in April or early May, don't forget to check out the 'Notre Dame Garden' located on the right side of the church for some awesome cherry blossoms!

      4. Climbing the Arc de Triomphe - You'll probably be half-dead once you've reached the top, but the view is worth every step up this massive monument. Go during sunset on a bright day - a magical view over Paris is guaranteed!

      5. Unwind at Palais Royal - Surprisingly, this place is somehow never that crowded - and I love that. It has this serene and relaxed vibe and this is the perfect place to play around at the Colonnes de Buren, read a book at the fountain or enjoy a Cafe Kitsuné matcha latte.

      6. Get Lost in Art - For all the art lovers out there, Paris the place to be. Very interesting exhibitions are held often at the Grand Palais and Palais du Tokyo, and the Musee du Louvre is something that you should definitely visit at least once. I could wander there all day getting soaked up by the rich history of fine art. Go in the early morning to avoid the crowd and also check the weather forecast in advance and plan these indoor activities on a rainy or less sunny day.

      7. Live in the Moment - Look around, look up, learn some French, buy that expensive box of delicous La Duree macarons or grab a freshly baked petite baguette at a boulangerie and have a picknick in the middle of the streets. Everything is possible in Paris!

Forget about macarons! I have discovered the next best thing: this fluffy and flakey pastries at 'Aux Merveilleux de Fred'. This is literally so tasty we went back twice the same day. Try it and you're sold!
