      JUNE 27, 2017 | CANNES, France

Is it Friday yet? - Hi everyone! I just got back in rainy Holland last Friday (17 Celsius degrees eh, did we skip summer?) after a taking a few days off to celebrate my birthday in Mallorca. It was salty, it was lots of fun and also 99 % cyber free. So freaking good.

So for todays article I'm taking you guys back to a trip we did last month to the oh-so glamorous Côte D'Azur. It was my fourth time visiting the French Riviera and the second time exploring the beautiful city Cannes.

We had the chance to experience the luxury of Hotel Barrière Le Majestic, a five star accommodation located at La Croisette with the Gucci store directly at the entrance (careful my shopaholics). Since I have quite a weak heart for jawdropping views, the moment I entered our Deluxe Sea View room I knew exactly where I would spent my entire stay - stuck at the window. Ok perhaps not, but we did took a little moment to enjoy the dancing palmtrees in front of the turquoise coloured sea. Also, to take one hundred pictures of course.

"WE TOOK A MOMENT TO ENJOY THE DANCING PALMTREES IN FRONT OF THE TURQUOISE COLOURED
      SEA"

There is a beautiful piscine (pool) located at the front but of course we couldn't skip a beach as beautiful as those in Cannes and the

best thing was that they has their own private beach just a minute away from the property. They also offer all kinds of water sports activities, but we went for a sunbath session together with the most delicious scallop truffle risotto. Recipe, please?

When it got a bit gloomy in the late afternoon we visited the the Spa Diane Barrière for a relaxing treatment. Now I have quite a sensitive skin and normally avoid taking scrubs, but I can totally recommend the St. Barths Softness treatment with coconut oil and fresh papaya. It was a very light peeling massage that left my skin velvety soft for weeks. I recently even tried to DIY something

similar at home but it totally failed during the process, oops..

After a delicious three course dinner at La Petite Maison de Nicole - here comes my favourite part - Emanuele Balestra (chief of bar) took us for a little stroll through the hotel's organic aromatic herb garden. How amazing is that they grow all the essential cocktail herbs by themselves? We absolutely loved this short tour as Emanuele passionately told us about his work and made us personalised drinks in the meantime. I'm honestly not that much of a cocktail person, but that Monkey 47 was sure one not to forget!

    - FAVOURITE PART OF THE DAY
"We had both breakfast in the room and restaurant; as it was very crowded downstairs, we preferred our morning meal in our room. Just look at that delicious fruit platter, breakfast that like this everyday please!"
    "CHAMPAGNE BREAKFAST, ANYONE?"

    - CHRISTIAN DIOR SUITE "During our little peek in the exquisite suite"
    DELUXE SEA VIEW ROOM
"A spacious 30m² room with a French balcony that opens its doors to a magnificent view over the Mediterranean sea. We also had a gorgeous marble bathroom, what makes it twice as fun of course. "
    A WARM WELCOME
"Nothing but love for handwritten welcome letters, refreshing drinks and a little sugar for the sweet tooths amongst us."
